Kingwood Crossing buyer lauds William Lyon Homes’ customer service

A chance encounter led Las Vegan Sue Kell to William Lyon's Kingwood Crossing neighborhood in The Vistas Village in Summerlin while she was in search for a resale home on the market. A snap decision to enter the neighborhood's model homes piqued her interest.

"A friend of mine in real estate told me about a home located along the 215 in Summerlin that was being offered on a short sale. I was driving around to find it and came here, to Kingwood Crossing," Kell said.

"I fell in love with the Plan Three immediately. I chose a lot and floor plan upgrades, and visited the design center. I became very excited about the prospect of buying a new home and moving to Kingwood Crossing."

Because of unforseen circumstances, she decided to purchase the Plan One design instead.

"The sales staff at William Lyon Homes understood my situation and was willing to work with me. They encouraged me to look at a different house, a Plan One ...," she said. "They were really great and treated me very well, both during the sales process and also since I moved in, going beyond my expectations."

Since moving into her 1,948-square-foot, single-story home with a roommate, Kell has taken steps to transform it into her "dream home" through careful design choices.

"Even though some design choices were already made prior to my purchase of the home, the design staff was extremely helpful in helping me choose options that blended my style with the options already in the home," she said.

"I was able to choose the flooring at the design center and have since been able to personalize it through bold colors, my furnishings and by making minor changes."

She incorporated Moroccan-style colors and furnishings in her master bedroom and bath, great room, kitchen and dining areas, in addition to original artwork that she created.

Outside, she has created an area for relaxation through landscaping, an entertainment area under a covered patio, and a "spool," which is a small pool-shaped hot tub with waterfall.

In addition to the Plan One model that Kell purchased, the neighborhood offers another single-story design -- the Plan Two, which measures 2,157 square feet and offers 21/2 baths and an optional fourth bedroom.

Two two-story designs are available.

The 2,515-square-foot Plan Three features four bedrooms and an optional fifth bedroom as well as 21/2 baths.

The largest model, Plan Four, features 2,737 square feet, four bedrooms and 31/2 baths, with options for a fifth bedroom as well as a fourth bath.

Prices start from the high $300,000s.

To visit, take, Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway, to Charleston Boulevard. Head west to Vista Center Drive and turn right. Turn right at Vista Park Drive and then right on Crown Forest, following the signs to the William Lyon sales office.

The models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Monday when they open at noon.
