April 11, 2012 - 8:41 am
Hair getting a bit long? Thinking about trimming it with warmer weather on the way?
Saturday might be the perfect time to lop those locks — and help the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation as you do.
Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are joining forces for the fourth year to present Klip It For Kidz from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Town Square Las Vegas. The event raises money for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.
This free event benefits NCCF’s more than 40 programs and services offered to children and families affected by cancer and life-threatening illnesses. Klip It For Kidz features food, live entertainment and exhibitions by Metro, Clark County Fire Department, and Clark County Fire Department Honor Guard. There will also be cars the popular television series “Knight Rider” and “Dukes of Hazzard,” presented by Paul Casey Productions, Las Vegas Care Stars.
Whether shaving your head or donating your hair (10 inches minimum) to make wigs for children, participating in Klip It For Kidz is simple. Download a pledge form at www.nvccf.org or Facebook (search: Klip It For Kidz) and collect pledges. On event day, bring pledges along with a full head of hair to the southwest parking lot of Town Square Las Vegas, near Rave Motion Pictures. After checking in and registering your pledges, step up to the “Klip It For Kidz Salon” to get a new summer hairdo.
