Ladera features homes by three builders in Summerlin

More than 20 floor plans are selling in Summerlin's newest and most southern village, The Mesa.

All floor plans are selling in Ladera, a 600-plus home neighborhood featuring homes by three home builders -- KB Home, Richmond American Homes and Engle Homes.

Ladera Ridge by KB Home features four floor plans that range from 1,642 to 2,103 square feet.

Ladera Crest, also by KB Home, features six floor plans that range from 2,388 to 2,883 square feet.

Ladera Canyon by Richmond American Homes features nine floor plans that range from 1,750 to 2,800 square feet.

Ladera Terrace by Engle Homes features three floor plans that range from 2,031 to 2,574 square feet.

Home prices start in the high $200,000s.

Ladera also features amenities designed exclusively for neighborhood residents, including parks, pool area, open lawn areas, seating ramadas and children's playgrounds.

According to Julie Cleaver, director of design and planning for The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin, Ladera has been a popular neighborhood for many reasons, including its location, planned amenities, and a range of home styles, sizes and prices.

"The Mesa Village is nestled against the Spring Mountains, offering residents a sense of privacy and exclusivity as well as a picturesque backdrop," she said. "The village features beautiful homes situated around parks, schools and walking trails. It's one of the most picturesque and peaceful areas of Summerlin."

The village will ultimately be home to several residential neighborhoods in addition to a large 19-acre community park, The Mesa Park, which is planned to open in 2009.

Located on Town Center Drive and Mesa Park Drive, the park will contribute to the recreational offerings of the village by adding tennis courts, three Little League baseball fields (one with stadium-style seating), a basketball court, tot lot, covered picnic ramadas and an open play area.

Summerlin's newest private schools, Bishop Gorman High School, opened its $93 million campus in The Mesa Village to 1,000 students in September of this year.

The 22,500-acre master-planned community located along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley began to take shape in 1990.

The community features a number of amenities and is home to more than 95,000 residents. With about 7,500 acres still to develop, including its urban core, Summerlin Centre, Summerlin is continuing to unfold.

The community is home to more than 100 neighborhood and village parks, more than 150 completed miles of the Summerlin trail system, nine golf courses, a dozen houses of worship, shopping centers, medical and cultural facilities, business parks, 22 public and private schools and more than 100 actively selling floor plans.

Homes are available in a variety of styles -- from single-family homes to townhomes, condominiums and lofts -- priced from the low $200,000s to more than $2 million.

Custom home sites in The Ridges are priced from the $500,000s.

Luxury apartment homes offer monthly rents starting from the $800s.
