Land Rover hosts Boy Scouts event

One lucky contestant won a Land Rover lease at the third annual Sporting Clays Classic, a fundraiser sponsored by Land Rover Las Vegas for the Las Vegas Boy Scouts of America chapter.

Dave Sortino, who participated in the event as part of the Martin-Harris Construction team, won a one-year lease of a 2010 Range Rover Sport.

The event, which brings together teams from companies across the Las Vegas Valley for a sporting clays competition, has raised more than $500,000 for local scouting, said Trevor Fagan, Land Rover Las Vegas marketing director.

This year's event was Jan. 15 at Land Rover Las Vegas and Jan. 16 at the Desert Hills Shooting Club. Day one featured an auction for a hunting trip vacation and firearms. Day two had the sporting clays competition, a SWAT demonstration by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and a Smith & Wesson fun shoot.
