LEE GREENWOOD SENDS FLOWERS TO ‘IDOL’ CONTESTANT
"American Idol" contestant Christy Lee Cook's rendition of "God Bless The U.S.A.," made a huge impression on Lee Greenwood.
Vegas Confidential has learned Greenwood, a former Las Vegas resident, sent a humongous floral arrangement to Cook after hearing her sing his 1984 hit during Tuesday's show.
Contestants were allowed to pick a song from the year they were born.
Greenwood wasn't the only one blown away by Cook's effort. Judge Simon Cowell called it her "best performance by a mile."
To make the connection with Cook, Greenwood called an old friend, Las Vegas entertainment reporter Alicia Jacobs of NBC affiliate KVBC-TV, Channel 3, who helped him get the flowers delivered.
