Lennar EI offers grand open space

Finding a home with space enough for a baby grand is not a concern for most young families. But when Mary and Joe Clavecilla migrated from Cleveland, Ohio to Southern Nevada, the couple said placing the piano was a top consideration.

Joe Clavecilla and his brother grew up playing musical competitions throughout the years, appearing and competing as solo artists and as a duo playing on twin baby grands. The brothers also performed regularly in various venues.

Joe Clavecilla has shared his love of the instrument with son Austin, who at 5-years-old is the same age Clavecilla was when he began taking piano lessons.

When the Clavecillas decided to join their families who had already relocated to Las Vegas they began their home-search in Henderson.

"We wanted to be in the same area as Joe's parents, who live in Sun City Anthem," Mary Clavecilla said.

The couple purchased the Marseille model at Lennar's Clermont in Anthem Highlands. Upon an initial tour, the couple said they walked into the decorated model of the Marseille and there it was -- a baby grand. "That was just about it," Joe Clavecilla said.

The two-story, five-bedroom, three-bath design measures 3,181 square feet and includes a three-car garage.

Highlighted features included in the home are a fireplace in the family room and master bedroom, granite kitchen counters, rear covered patio and a balcony off the master suite.

The couple added full ceramic-tile flooring on the first level of the home.

"We decided this would be the most practical for us with a small son," Mary Clavecilla said. Clavecilla said other design elements such as an open floor plan and large windows, were her selling points.

The neighborhood is part of the builder's Everything's Included program and is an Energy Star-certified community.

Four single- and two-story residences range 1,819 to 3,181 square feet with up to five bedrooms, three baths and two- or three-car garage. Pricing is from the $400,000s.

The Provence is a one-story residence with 1,819 square feet, four bedrooms, two baths and two-car garage. The design includes an informal dining nook with bay windows looking out to the rear covered patio. Sliding doors from the family open to the patio. Design highlights include volume ceilings.

The 1,898-square-foot, two-story St. Tropez offers three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and two-car garage. The home features formal and informal living areas on the main floor including an open and spacious family room. The master suite features a private balcony.

The 2,302-square-foot Biarritz is a two-story floor plan with a bedroom and full bath on the first floor. It includes a covered rear patio off the family room and a master suite balcony.

To visit, take Eastern Avenue south to Sun City Anthem Parkway to Bicentennial Parkway. Take Bicentennial to Anthem Highlands, then left on Democracy Drive and follow signs to the community.

Model homes are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Monday when they close at 3 p.m.
