Lennar to hold Dream Home event, food truck challenge

Lennar will hold its Dream Home event and food truck challenge from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. today.

The event will be held in southwest Las Vegas on the corner of Fort Apache and Sunset roads in the Fresh and Easy shopping center at 6575 S. Fort Apache Road.

Visitors can have lunch and vote for their favorite local food truck.

In addition they can learn about purchasing homes through the builder's new credit repair program.

Financial experts will be on-site to answer questions about how to overcome foreclosure, bankruptcy or a short sale and how to repair credit ratings.

Lennar has partnered with two lenders, Universal American Mortgage Co. and Nova Home Loans, which specialize in helping potential buyers understand their credit situation in order to improve and develop strategies to help upgrade their credit rating, so they can buy a home.

Lennar has done research on local monthly rental rates and discovered that people could be saving more than $300 per month by investing in a new home. In addition, they often end up with more living space.

According to economists, rental rates are projected to grow 6.1 percent on average in 2012, and then increase in the following years.

Some people have trouble qualifying for the initial loan. Lennar's Project Dream Home Program helps potential homebuyers get on the track to home ownership. Project Dream Home offers homebuyers the opportunity to lock in a homesite at today's prices and, while their home is under construction, professionals walk them through the steps to getting their credit on track before the home closes, according to Joy Broddle, Lennar Las Vegas sales manager.

"Lennar wants to help buyers make the American dream of owning their own home a reality," she said. "Lennar will assist homebuyers by connecting them with the appropriate individuals who can help them achieve their credit goals and find the home they have always wanted.

"It really is a win-win situation. Buyers have every reason to feel good about buying a new home now and we think that by offering this program, we are proving that Lennar strongly believes that everyone should have the chance to buy one of our Everything's Included homes. Plus, some of the best local food trucks will be there, so it is a great opportunity to bring the family out for lunch," Broddle said.

Lennar's Las Vegas communities offer a variety of Everything's Included homes, which provide buyers with standard features in their homes at no extra cost.

For more information, call 877-204-4411 or visit LENNAR.com/LASVEGAS. Sales representatives at each participating new-home community can provide complete details regarding the program, which is available for a limited time.
