Letters from gentle readers — enjoy

I’m glad we’re all in agreement. Well, there were a few of you who appear to differ with me.
From Michael: “Here you go again trying to get us out of a recession by advocating more taxes. Is that your only solution? Having worked for the federal government for over 20 years in the area of investigating fraud, waste and abuse there is at least 20% of government that can be trimmed. Yes, the employee may have to work a real 8-hour job but so be it and we may not get all the services. Yes, some Medicaid recipients may not get dental and eyeglasses on a regular basis. Guess what John I don't either unless I pay for it. In times that are tough,13% unemployment you don't go ask the citizens to fund more taxes. Just a little clue for you liberals who do not understand taxes, we citizens end up paying the new tax bills because the business just passes it on or in the case of small business they may go out of business.
“John, the new taxes they levied against us last year did what. Nothing but take more money out of our pocket. People in this country are tired of morons like you who think government is the solution. Believe me the big G does not create jobs or inspire new product innovation. Government has an important limited role. It does not create anything and will not get us out of the recession. In fact its housing policies helped create the housing bubble. Government demanding banks loan to people who could not afford housing created one hell of a mess. Thank you from Carter to Bush and the Dodd's and Frank's for that matter. Don't forget Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae for them for getting us in the mess. Government creates too many of the problems for us.”
From Joe #1:When times are good it’s easy to ride on your high horse and believe that you are doing a good job. Money flows freely, there are too many jobs and not enough people. What really determines what kind of person you are is how you act and what you do when things are at their worst. To me it’s apparent that most politicians look at politics as a career and not as community service. I never understood why there was a Governor’s Mansion with a lavish Governor’s office or why politicians see the finest shows and dine at the most delicious restaurants. The solution to America's economic crisis is so simple but all these people want to do is play politics and nobody wants to lose. Well that’s all fine and dandy, but it’s us hard-working folk that are losing.
To me it’s easy. #1 increase tariffs to discourage imports, case in point go to any retail outlet and find out what they're selling that’s made in America. Every item imported is one less job for Americans.
#2 Lets make illegal citizenship a crime. I know so many people are appalled at this statement but look at the facts. Illegals have no respect for America they undermine our middle class wages that our ancestors have fought hard for us to have, they weigh down our health care system costing any government program designed to help Americans millions in excess of what it should cost. People, there is a legal way to become a citizen, and be proud of being American.
#3 Make it a crime to employ illegal aliens, or as the new term implies "undocumented workers". Remember ignorance is not an excuse to break the law. #4 Create massive tax penalties for companies that want to move their jobs overseas.
That’s it, it’s that simple. Now we can argue about the specifics forever or we can pass emergency legislation to get things started and as time goes on we can tweak these laws as we get a better understanding of their overall impact. I know these 4 ideas will never happen because politicians only care about keeping voters happy not doing what’s best for the country. I don’t claim to be some economic genius, but its easy to see that most of the issues important to Americans are so complicated that by trying to appease ones constituents and not looking at the facts things are going to get worse.
Am I against a global economy? Right now I am. We need to concentrate on home and not care what any other nation thinks about us. Who cares if China gets mad because of high tariffs, who cares if Mexico is upset that we are shipping back all there illegals? Carson City, Washington DC lets get to work and let’s be smart about what’s really going on.”
From Joe No. 2:
“You need to take a begginer's course in economics. You are campaigning for higher taxes because people are suffering. Yet you state the fact that the unemployment rate is 13% - and rising!
“What do you think the implementation of new taxes is going to do to that unemployment rate? Make it go down?
“This is a typical left-wing tactic: "If you don't raise taxes seniors will lose their underwear!" Give me a break!
“’Green Jobs’ will only come to Nevada becaue of Harry Reid? ARE YOU SERIOUS? That is possibly the most preposterous statement that I think I have ever seen in print. "Green Jobs" will come to ANY state when they are ECONOMICALLY VIABLE and then they will be provided by the PRIVATE SECTOR.
“Harry Reid has embarked on a process which will not only tear the fabric of everything that made this country great, but sold out Nevadans in the process. If he had his way, Mr. Smith, not only would Nevadans have to pay higher costs for health care, but we would be SUBSIDIZING the care for fellow citizens in NEBRASKA, LOUISIANA and FLORIDA. Stop portraying this guy as a savior - he is a MENACE.”
And my favorite letter of the day:
Dear Mr. Smith,
Please spare the whole USA the indignity, the shame, the cost, and any mention of the very existence of Las Vegas.
We don't need your column on this kid and his one day in jail, on the fathers of these crooks-- crooked cop-killing cops themselves, or crooked or virtuous deals with Federal Judges like Pro.
Vegas is nothing but the "anus" of modern capitalism, belching and pooping out crime on the rest of us.
Vegas--bores me---like all true evil--it is boring.
Vegas--is like looking at a movie--about a dog --pooping on a lawn.
Who would be interested in THAT?
It is just--strange, boring, puzzling.
Evil is like that--puzzling.
It is not about glamour.
The real world:
One in four kids are on food stamps,
people want an education,
the elderly need care-- but why would Sheldon Adelson care, or Steve Wynn or any one of your many "poopers"
who only know how to poop on peoples' lives, and not help them?
But--no one in Vegas--is capable of acting in a virtuous way.
Vegas is a city of "poopers" who "poop" on peoples' real lives.
That is the penalty of being in Vegas.
There is no virtue.
Can we PLEASE pull the PLUG on VEGAS? Pretty please, with sugar on top?
For the good of the USA?
Close your eyes, blow real hard--and Vegas will just go away.
It is just a figment in the imagination of some really deluded
non-religious types
who mistakenly believe in Mamon, and that there is no God,
and some fake-Catholic Sicilian mafia Italians--who mistakenly think--they are God.
BTW--I say that as a Catholic.
And a lot of greedy bastards on the take--like DA David Rogers.
But there is, of course, and they aren't, of course, respectively. And Rogers--will get caught someday.
Much to their/his immense surprise.
They are just some dried poop around the anus of the modern economy, which one day soon God himself will just shit out without a second thought, into hell.
What is the solution for this problem we face--in the meantime--of your state and city pooping out crime on the rest of us?
One insight. Into the true nature of "Vegas poop."
Why is Vegas so arrogant?
I think--the Teamsters killed Robert Kennedy--because he was going to ban gambling, way back in 1968. On the federal level.
Yep.
Means, motive, opportunity.
RFK--came to LA--and Vegas got him. Specifically--the Teamsters
in fact--I think it was the white-trash, Italian racist Fertittas who actually did it--not Marcello of New Orleans--as many speculate.
Now, why the white-trash Fertittas?
They area special kind of cried "poop" on the anus of capitalism.
They are racist, white trash--and sicilian mafia--AND from south Texas--no more racist place on earth--just like NV--all in one.
Simply--to preserve or get their line of credit, with the Teamsters.
Unless--they had first killed JFK--in Dallas--just to GET the line of credit--in '63--to move to Vegas in the first place, and then
killed RFK--to keep from going broke--if he were to be elected and were to ban gambling--in '68. That might work too.
Not exactly Thomas Jefferson's America, is it?
The sad song of means, motive, opportunity.
And--once a family commits a homicide like that--one naturally gets arrogant.
Like--Oscar Goodman, another piece of poop.
I repeat--what is the solution to Vegas as the "anus" of capitalism--or the detrius around the anus of capitalism?
I guess---for God to blow it out his--well----figuratively you know---and then wipe it off the financial face of the universe.
So--who cares about Vegas crime?
God is blowing everything in your city out of God's very own rectum, right now, right into the utter eternal vacuum of hell where it will freeze over, and where it will belong in isolation for eternity.
Out into "the stars"--just like the name "Las Vegas" indicates--frozen, cold, in hell for eternity, isolated from God, all other human beings, all love. It is the destiny of Las Vegas.
