MacDonald Highlands release golf-front lots

MacDonald Highlands has released the next phase of Highlander Ridge, including golf-front custom estate lots.

MacDonald Highlands has an estimated $180 million worth of new home construction and community enhancements underway.

The exclusive 1,200-acre hillside community features a range of custom-home sites with panoramic Strip and mountain views.

Highlander Ridge, the neighborhood centered around the private championship DragonRidge Golf Course, offers a collection of some of the finest custom home sites yet to be released at MacDonald Highlands, according to Rich MacDonald, developer the planned community.

This lot release marks the first time in several years that perspective owners can purchase an estate lot with elevated city and Strip views for under $1 million, he said.

The lots at Highlander Ridge range from one-quarter to three-quarters acres, and are priced from $500,000 to $1.5 million.

"By releasing these remaining lots at Highlander Ridge, we are realizing our vision and mission to create an extraordinary lifestyle unlike any other in this part of the country," MacDonald said. "These new home sites offer buyers an extraordinary opportunity to create their dream homes surrounded by an award-winning golf course, overlooking the illustrious Las Vegas skyline."

With wide fairways, large greens and at least four tees on each hole, the 18-hole 72-par course was designed to keep the game interesting and challenging for players of all skill levels, he said.

For the second year in a row, the community has won Best Luxury Golf Course Community from VegasGolfer Magazine.

This spring, DragonRidge will become home to Nevada's only Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf, offering players a learning facility.

The Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf at DragonRidge will join an impressive roster boasting facilities around the world in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, located within some of the most prestigious five and six-star resorts and residential developments, MacDonald said.

In addition to the new Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf, the DragonRidge Country Club will also unveil a new 14,000-square-foot fitness center this spring. It will feature 4,500 square feet of workout area, five championship tennis courts, one with stadium viewing, as well as three fitness studios, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts and a park.

MacDonald Highlands is located at the intersection of Valle Verde Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway. The information center is at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
