MacDonald Highlands to host charity event
September 27, 2008 - 9:00 pm
Las Vegas Entertainer Danny Gans will host the annual Danny Gans' Partee Fore Kids! Celebrity PRO-AM Nov. 3 at DragonRidge Country Club located within the exclusive MacDonald Highlands community.
Each year, this tournament draws entertainers and athletes from all walks of life to raise money for The First Tee of Southern Nevada and its Danny Gans Junior Golf Academy.
Golf openings are now available for $1,000 per person or $4,000 per foursome.
"For many years, we have admired Danny Gans' commitment to raising money for The First Tee and we are honored to host this tournament at DragonRidge for the first time," said Rich MacDonald, developer of MacDonald Highlands.
"We are looking forward to welcoming Danny and his guests to play on this course that we are so very proud of and we know the event will result in great success for The First Tee."
The cornerstone of MacDonald Highlands, DragonRidge Country Club features a private 18-hole championship golf course and a 44,000-square-foot clubhouse. With wide fairways, large greens and at least four tees on each hole, DragonRidge was designed by noted golf course architects Jay Morrish and David Druzisky, to keep the game interesting and challenging for players of all skill levels, according to MacDonald.
In 2009, DragonRidge will become home to the Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf, the first of its kind in the state. The Academy will feature a state-of-the-art learning facility with the Nicklaus Integrated Technologies and Fitness Program to complement its results-driven instruction philosophy.
Next spring, the Dragon Ridge Country Club also will unveil a new 14,000-square-foot, members-only fitness facility.
The center will feature 4,500 square feet of workout area, five championship tennis courts -- one with stadium viewing -- as well as three fitness studios, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts and a park.
MacDonald Highlands is located at the intersection of Valle Verde Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway.
The information center is located at 1730 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway and is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
