Marines pee on dead ‘Talibans’; politicians wet themselves

I'd urge more than a little restraint in judgment concerning the videotape that shows U.S. Marines urinating on the corpses of members of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

This is not to condone the juvenile action. But it is war, ladies and gentlemen, and in the grand scale of things this is a small matter.

I think Hillary Clinton used the right word when she said she was "totally dismayed." I trust she means it in school marm sense that the initial reporting of the act itself causes her "disillusionment" and general "agitation."

From a political standpoint the video comes at a bad time as the U.S. attempts to negotiate a peace with the Taliban. This event momentarily side tracks things.

But from a military standpoint, this is the kind of deal that ought to be taken care of in due course by the Marines, not in the court of public opinion with politicians as judge and jury.
