Mary Cheney jumps in on the Senate race

Mary Cheney, the daughter of the former vice president, is behind a new 527 group preparing to air commercials in Nevada against Sen. Harry Reid.

Cheney, a Republican consultant, declined to tell The Daily Caller how much the organization, called "Send Harry Packing," planned to spend in the state. The group has an ad that was set to air in Las Vegas starting today.

According to the group's registration with the Internal Revenue Service, another officer is Kara Ahern, a former political aide to Dick Cheney when he was vice president.
