Mayday! Mayday! Sen. Reid going down!

Or so says this piece from Bob Kuttner in today's Huffington Post.

The writer makes a plea to the White House to do something -- something real! -- about the housing crisis in Nevada or face the sure defeat of Sen. Harry Reid and a good chunk of the Democrat majority in Congress come November.

It's a passionate plea, but a bit late.

Doing something about Nevada's unbelievable housing crisis now to save Sen. Reid in November is something akin to President Obama arriving on the Gulf Coast Sunday and saying, "Hey, that turtle's covered in oil. What's going on here?"

My advice, Mr. President, is if you're going to wake up and do something about the housing crisis, do it for the people you serve -- not for political survival. Besides, some things can't be scrubbed clean by November.

Can he be scrubbed clean by November?
