McCain and the ‘Bail-Out Bill’ — JohnnyMac’s got some splainin’ to do
September 28, 2008 - 4:51 pm
NYT columnist Frank Rich is a big lefty thinker (which makes him wrong 70% of the time), but I've liked him ever since he took apart the Hillary Clinton campaign for going racist on Sen. Barack Obama. There are not that many gutsy libs out there willing to take on the Queen of The Lefty Party. Rich was righteous on that and it's too bad more liberals couldn't muster the strength to say the right thing when it counted. (Too late now, BTW.)
I don't necessarily agree with him in this Sunday's missive in which he takes apart McCain for allegedly playing politics with the so-called 'Bail-Out bill'. But I do think Sen. McCain has some splainin' to do after making a big fat deal about suspending his campaign, then showing up at the debate and not saying one word about the bill and his role/concerns on the bill.
If the new bill doesn't have some McCain fingerprints on it, he's gonna look bad, just as Rich and the NYTimes suspects/hopes. Let's see what Monday brings. I hope we see a full-throttle McCain leading the country through this financial mess on Monday. If we don't ... well, let's see what next week brings.
My 2 cents. Yours?
