MEDIA: Daniel Schorr to speak at UNLV

Daniel Schorr, senior news analyst for National Public Radio, will talk about the role of media during key times in history at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 in Artemus Ham Hall at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
Titled “Forgive Us Our Press Passes,” Schorr’s visit is part of the Peace in the Desert Lecture Series sponsored by the Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at UNLV.
According to NPR, Schorr is the last “still fully active” member of Edward R. Murrow’s reporting team for CBS.
He began his career as a foreign correspondent in 1946 and served in that capacity for 20 years. He then focused his energies in Washington, D.C.
Schorr has received three Emmys and is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists Hall of Fame.
He contributes to “All Things Considered,” “Weekend Edition Saturday” and “Weekend Edition Sunday” for NPR as well as helping cover breaking news.
His lecture at UNLV is free and open to the public.
