Mira Villa luxury condominiums receives Energy Star certification
Mira Villa, the new condominium community in the heart of Summerlin, recently announced that several of its residences have received Energy Star certification, making it the first luxury midrise development in Summerlin to achieve this rating.
Energy Star is a joint program between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy created to protect the environment through energy-efficient products and practices and help consumers save on their energy costs. Energy Star-certified homes must be at least 15 percent more energy efficient than the average household.
Homes, like the ones at Mira Villa, that earn Energy Star certification are significantly more efficient than standard homes, featuring effective insulation, high performance windows, tight construction and tight ducts, more efficient heating and cooling equipment and energy-saving appliances.
"Mira Villa offers a progressive and beautiful design with impressive energy-efficient appointments that not only help save residents money, but also reduce our carbon footprint," said Annette Bubak, president of Nevada Energy Star Partners.
"The community's commitment to providing more efficient homes is remarkable and its residents should be proud to call Mira Villa home."
Mira Villa is also seeking certification for an NV Energy Plus rating, meaning that the residences at Mira Villa will be at least 30 percent more efficient than standard homes.
"Summerlin has enjoyed a long history with Energy Star, and we are proud that Mira Villa is now our first luxury Energy Star midrise community," said Tom Warden, senior vice president of community and government relations for The Howard Hughes Corp. "Achieving Energy Star status and receiving an NV Energy Plus rating are no easy tasks and we are impressed with Mira Villa's commitment to go the extra mile in order to create a desirable neighborhood that is truly energy efficient."
The gated community is located between two award-winning golf courses and the JW Marriott Resort & Spa Las Vegas. Mira Villa has access to shopping, dining, golfing and recreation.
"Mira Villa offers buyers not only an outstanding location, but also a high performance home," said Todd Grotstein, president of Nexus 30, the marketing firm representing Mira Villa. "Each home provides its residents with less maintenance, reduced energy bills and improved comfort, all while protecting the environment."
The community offers 113 unique residences, ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 square feet. Prices start in the low $400,000s.
