Morning Letter: More Praise for King Putt
March 10, 2009 - 7:22 am
Several readers keep asking me where this mini golf course I wrote about in Monday's paper. It's at West Lake Mead Boulevard and I-95, just west of 95, on the north side of the road, in the shopping center with Whole Foods. There's another one at 9230 S. Eastern Ave.
And here's a morning letter from a fan of the place:
Dear Mr.Elfman,
I read your article about Terri Mayes cleaning King Putt. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you what a wonderful staff they have there (and no I am in no way related!).....It's so nice when a employees go above and beyond what is expected of them.
I took my 9 year old son there when they had recently opened. It was extremely crowded and we had to wait for about 15 minutes. My son has speech issues and a low frustration level. Something wasn't going right in the playing area. After 5 minutes he came out and said, "Let's go home Mom." Instead, I went over to the staff and asked someone to help him. They sure did! An employee stayed with him and supervised the entire time. He cam out smiling...How cool is that! I called the owner who lives somewhere out of state. People in Las Vegas should know how nice, how terrific that place is for kids.
Just because I have your ear, I would also like to tell you about the awesome staff at the Crystal Palace on Rancho. I don't know who picks the young staff but they are just so helpful and respectful and patient for their young clientele. I have been going there for 5 years with my now 9 and 10 year old. I recall that, a few years ago,the owner told me that the kids who work there have to submit their report cards...bad grades, no work.
