MORNING LINE: Ex-Sheriff Carona takes a tumble

  Former Orange County Sheriff Michael Carona was convicted of a single felony in his federal political corruption case late last week in Santa Ana. His acquittal on five counts was a big victory, but I’m guessing he still won’t feel like celebrating.

  Carona made news locally after photos linking him to Crazy Horse Too topless club mogul and mob associate Rick Rizzolo surfaced.

  Back when Carona did feel like celebrating, he was occasionally spotted at The Ritz in Newport Beach. The Ritz is owned by Piero's Ristorante operator and Rizzolo pal Freddie Glusman.
