MORNING LINE: PLAN’s plan for Nevada

  Could this be the year the liberal collective known as the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada sees one of its “plans” come to fruition?

  PLAN recently released its proposal to broaden the tax base in Nevada, raise some taxes, and balance the budget without eviscerating social programs that are already bursting at the seams.

  If you know PLAN, you know this is no surprise.

  But let’s watch in the coming days and see whether PLAN gathers some highly unlikely allies. For instance, who would have imagined that the state’s lightly taxed mining industry might have something in common with PLAN? I’m guessing big mining would like to see more business taxes, which would surely help take the target off its own back.
