Mountain Falls buyer selects Bella Sera Plan Two

Home buyer Ernest Hons said he was looking for a "change of pace" from his life out East. During a visit to Southern Nevada, the semi-retiree discovered the 1,050-acre Mountain Falls master-planned community in Pahrump that he now calls home.
"I learned about Mountain Falls while visiting the Pahrump Valley and then I saw an advertisement (for Mountain Falls) in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. I seriously became interested in the housing opportunities of Southern Nevada," Hons said. "I was looking for a total change of pace. When I visited Mountain Falls and its Bella Sera neighborhood, I knew that this is the place for me."
Hons selected a Plan Two home at the Bella Sera neighborhood by William Lyon Homes, where homes measure from 2,495 to 2,897 square feet and are priced from the $300,000s. The single-story neighborhood is one of seven actively selling neighborhoods in the community located about 45 miles west of Las Vegas.
"Because it was a spec home, the builder's sales agent, Vicki Gardner, had already selected the upgrades and I am very impressed by what she chose -- the fixtures, 18-inch tile throughout except for the bedrooms, the granite countertops. It has a very nice finish with a lot of details," he said.
Hons said he plans to continue his part-time work as a business consultant from his new residence.
"In my consulting work, it doesn't matter where you live. With technology, I am able to work from anywhere," he said.
Hons relied on such technology in making his home purchase.
"This was the best home buying experience I have ever had," Hons said. "During the actual purchase, we did everything electronically."
Like other residents, Hons has access to the master-planned community's amenities, including the Mountain Falls clubhouse where a fitness center, lounge area, multipurpose room and outdoor aquatic center are located.
Residents and nonresidents alike may dine at the nearby Mountain Falls Grill Room. It overlooks an 18-hole golf course, where annual, six-month, three-month and monthly golf passes are offered to residents at a discounted rate.
Four builders are currently constructing homes within eight neighborhoods at Mountain Falls. Prices start in the high $100,000s.
To visit from Las Vegas, travel about 45 miles west on Highway 160 (Blue Diamond Road) past Interstate 15. Before reaching Pahrump, turn left on Manse Road. Proceed to Hafen Ranch and turn right.
Sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Monday when model homes open at noon.
