Mountain’s Edge brings in Fourth

With hundreds in attendance, the Mountain's Edge master-planned community celebrated the Fourth of July.

Residents at the southwestern community observed the holiday with a pancake breakfast and family-friendly activities at Exploration Park located in the 3,500-acre master-planned community. The holiday revelers enjoyed pancakes, pastries, juices and coffee, as well as a water slide, kids' Ferris wheel, patriotic face painter and Uncle Sam balloon twister.

"The pancake breakfast is a wonderful way for our residents to be able to get together and meet one another while enjoying the great amenities featured at Exploration Park," said Vicky Parris, community manager of the Mountain's Edge homeowner's association. "It is a priority of the master HOA to be able to provide events like these for the residents of Mountain's Edge."

The 80-acre Exploration Park is the first of six parks that are planned at the community located at Blue Diamond Road and Buffalo Drive.

Several residents who attended the pancake breakfast took the opportunity to utilize a series of hiking trails designed for people of all ages to help guide them to the top Exploration Peak, which is the city's first mountain park.

The pathways include ramadas at two different stages to serve as a shady rest area for hikers and walkers.

The most visible feature in Exploration Park is a Western Theme Park that blends the natural elements of the community's geography and history.

This Old West Village is built to a child's perspective and is meant to challenge the imaginative young minds of children.

The builder features a Home Search Café, located at the community's entrance on Buffalo Drive and Blue Diamond Road. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
