Mountain’s Edge holds Easter Egg spring event
April 5, 2008 - 9:00 pm
More than 2,000 residents of Mountain's Edge, a 3,500-acre master plan located in southwestern Las Vegas, welcomed the arrival of spring with an Easter Eggstravaganza hosted by the community's homeowners association. The Easter event featured a brunch with food, beverages and entertainment, and was held in the community's Exploration Park.
The annual event, which featured Easter egg hunts, arts and crafts for kids, and games and activities for adults, is part of the community's commitment to providing regular event programming that brings residents together.
"The Easter Eggstravaganza was a tremendous success due to the participation and enthusiasm of so many residents who take pride in living at Mountain's Edge," said Vicky Parris, community manager for Mountain's Edge's HOA.
Residents Jessamyn Kear and Martin Helierling brought their 11-month-old daughter to the event.
"We really appreciated the effort it took for the homeowners association to plan an event of this magnitude that provided so much enjoyment for our family," said Kear, who calls the community's Yellowstone neighborhood home.
Parris said other events residents can look forward to at Mountain's Edge include the community's first Classic Car Show to be held April 20 at Exploration Park. The event will feature classic cars from different eras, a '50s band, a contest for the best '50' outfit and most decorated bicycle, volleyball, horseshoes and other activities.
The community also will host the second annual Country in the Park festival May 3 at the park. The event will feature western-themed performances and live music by local country and western bands, mechanical bull riding, line dancing lessons and an array of booths with food and refreshments.
Mountain's Edge was certified by Robert Charles Lesser & Co., a leading independent real estate advisory firm, as the No.1-selling master-planned community in the United States in 2007. In 2006, the community ranked as the No. 2-selling master plan in the nation.
When fully developed, Mountain's Edge is planned for four elementary schools, one of which is already open with a second school under construction, plus two middle schools and a high school. The community also will have a fire station, shopping centers, restaurants and commercial office space.
