Mountain’s Edge, Providence launch Facebook, Twitter pages
July 16, 2010 - 11:00 pm
The master-planned communities of Mountain's Edge and Providence have entered the social media realm with the launch of Facebook and Twitter pages, providing information about community events, photo albums and news.
"We have found that many people stay in touch with their friends and community through social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter," said Deonna Stocker, manager of Mountain's Edge and Providence information center operations.
"We believe creating pages for Mountain's Edge and Providence is a great way to keep people informed of all the events, as well as news, general information and programs at each community."
The Facebook page for each master plan includes general information about the community as well as photos from past events, neighborhoods and amenities offered.
The pages also include updates on activities and workshops as well as pertinent information and news relating to each master-planned community and links to homebuilders' Facebook pages.
The Twitter pages for Mountain's Edge and Providence will also feature information and updates about community events and news as well as links to news articles and information.
"It's a great tool for our community members and a good way for us to deliver information that is easy to access at their leisure," Stocker said.
"Another benefit is that people who don't live in Mountain's Edge or Providence but are interested in learning about the communities and their events, have access to that information right at their computer when they visit Facebook or Twitter."
Stocker also said the social media pages give the Mountain's Edge and Providence communities one more way to communicate with residents. The social media pages will also allow each master plan to communicate with nonresidents about large events like County in the Park and the Easter Eggstravaganza, which are open to the residents of the Las Vegas Valley.
