MOVIES: ‘My Run’ returns to Las Vegas for one-night-only showcase

It has been a long run for "My Run," an award-winning documentary that played last year's Las Vegas International Film Festival.

It returns to six local theaters — the Colonnade, Orleans, Sam's Town, Santa Fe Station, South Point and Village Square — at 7 p.m. Thursday as  part of a nationwide, one-night-only showcase.

The documentary focuses on widower Terry Hitchcock, 57, who's struggling to raise three young children after his wife's death from breast cancer — and decides to run 75 consecutive marathons, in 75 consecutive days, to honor his wife, single-parent families and their children.

There's also a Las Vegas connection to "My Run" — producer Mark Castaldo was a craps dealer at the Desert Inn for seven years before getting into the movie business.

Narrated by Billy Bob Thornton, "My Run" has won 10 film festival awards — and will be presented Thursday at 518 theaters nationwide. The movie will be followed by a 15-minute interview with Terry Hitchcock and his son Chris, who was part of Hitchcock's support team.

Tickets for "My Run" are available online at www.fathomevents.com/myrun.
