MOVIES: ‘Paranormal Activity’ invades Rave for sneak previews

You asked for it, you got it. Sneak previews of "Paranormal Activity," that is.

The much-buzzed-about chiller — about a young couple, in their first house, menaced by a possibly demonic presence — played to sold-out crowds in midnight showings in a dozen cities last weekend. Some 20 additional cities have sneaks this weekend, including Las Vegas, because locals visited the movie's Web site (www.ParanormalMovie.com) to demand screenings here.

Those screenings will be at 11:59 p.m. Thursday and 11:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Rave Town Square 18.

Based on its marketing campaign, "Paranormal Activity" is going the "Blair Witch Project" route, building early word-of-mouth through the Internet. The contemporary twist? Twitter, of course; check out www.Twitter.com/TweetYourScream to find reactions from preview screenings, press reviews, and announcements of future "Paranormal Activity" engagements.

After all, Halloween's only a month away ...
