MOVIES: Special screenings — Play ball with ‘The Boys of Summer’

The World Series may be winding down, but it's still baseball season Tuesday night with "The Boys of Summer," an award-winning documentary from Las Vegas-based filmmaker Robert Cochrane that screens at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Palms' Brenden Theatres.
The documentary follows Cochrane and his father, Dan, who has Parkinson's disease, as they attempt a two-month, 20,000-mile road trip to catch a game at each of 30 major-league ballparks — on a less-than-shoestring budget.
Tickets are $10 and include popcorn and soda, courtesy of Brenden Theatres; 100 percent of the screening profits will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. (Fox also is battling Parkinson's.)
Because seating is limited, purchasing tickets in advance is recommended; contact Robert Cochrane at bromack@mac.com for tickets. For more information on "Boys of Summer," including a trailer and media clips, visit the movie's Web site at www.bosmovie.com.
