MUSIC: Killers working on new album
July 29, 2008 - 1:46 pm
It was “Sam’s Town” last go ‘round, so what’s it’s gonna be called this time?
“Jerry’s Nugget”?
“The Gold Strike”?
“Fiesta Henderson” per chance?
Whatever The Killers decide to name their forthcoming new album, the group is reportedly in the studio working on it, according to a recent posting on the MTV News website.
Ditching the studio at The Palms for their own recording facilities, the band is readying the still-untitled disc for a November release.
The album is being produced by Stuart Price, who’s collaborated with Madonna in the past and also did the “Thin White Duke Remix” version of the band’s hit “Mr. Brightside.”
"We've got some new songs, but there's a long way to go before they're ready for an album," bassist Mark Stoermer told MTV last year as the band commenced work on the record. "So far, they're different than ‘Sam's Town,’ but nothing that we write surprises me. Some are a bit stripped down for us — whatever that means.”
The disc follows up their last studio effort, 2006’s “Sam’s Town,” which debuted at #2 on the “Billboard” album chart and quickly went platinum.
