Erika David, a 19-year-old student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is the winner of the Colgate MaxFresh Video Music Competition.
She receives a recording session with Grammy-winning producer Bryan-Michael Cox. Among his latest projects is Mariah Carey’s “E=MC2.” She also is expected to get a chance to sing at the Jingle Ball event at Madison Square Garden’s All Access Lounge in New York City later this year.
David was among 300 people who submitted audition videos for the contest, which was hosted by MySpace. Contestants received votes and comments from online viewers, but the final decision was made by a team of judges consisting of Cox; Tito El Bambino, Reggaeton recording artist; and Danyel Smith, editor in chief of Vibe magazine.
