Tivoli Village has an opening date of April 28.

Savers to open Summerlin-area store

Savers has announced plans to open its sixth Las Vegas-area store at 8530 W. Lake Mead Blvd. at Rampart B oulevard. Savers specializes in quality secondhand merchandise while benefi ting Safe Nest . The thrift store chain will add 50 jobs to the area.

Water Authority accepting
nominations for Landscape Awards

The Southern Nevada Water Authority's 13th annual Landscape Awards competition is taking applications .

The contest is open to local residents and landscape professionals interested in showing off their water-efficient landscapes.

Jewish Singles Club to meet Wednesday

The Jewish Singles 55 Plus Social Club plans to meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the NV Energy building, 6226 W. Sahara Ave. Attendees are asked to go to the back of the building, where there will be a meeting room sign.

A special guest plans to speak on Jewish Genealogy.

The club welcomes all interested people to attend. In addition to the monthly meeting, different social functions, such as dine-outs and parties, are held throughout the year.

Star Party set for Saturday

The Rangers at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the Las Vegas Astronomical Society plan to host an Astronomy in the Park Star Party at the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center at 6 p.m. Saturday .

The presentation is scheduled to be "Saturn --- Lord of the Rings," followed by telescope observing of the night sky immediately afterward, weather permitting.

If you are not planning to attend the presentation, you should be in the park no later than 7 p.m. A 30-minute "What's Up Tonight" laser-guided tour of the night sky is set for 8 p.m., followed by more observing.

A park entry fee of $7 per vehicle may apply.

Breast-feeding class coming
to MountainView Hospital

A breast-feeding class is planned from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at MountainView Hospital's education classroom, 3100 N. Tenaya Way.

Learn about breast-feeding, early attachment and breast-feeding in public. The class is recommended for women in their final trimester. Attendees need to bring a doll or a stuffed animal for active participation.

Temple Sinai plans Pesach seder

Temple Sinai plans to host a catered Pesach seder at 6 p.m. April 18 at its facility, 9001 Hillpointe Road. Doors are set to open at 5:30 p.m.

The cost for members is $55 for adults and $25 for children 6 to 12. The cost for nonmembers is $75 and $45 for children 6 to 12.

The registration deadline is Monday.

Barefoot Sanctuary Yoga Studio
opens inside Whole Foods Market

Barefoot Sanctuary has opened a yoga, fitness and dance studio inside the Whole Foods Market at 8855 W. Charleston Blvd.

Barefoot Sanctuary also operates a studio inside the Whole Foods Market at Town Square Las Vegas, 6689 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

The yoga studio was established by former Cirque du Soleil performer Alvin Tam and professional yoga teacher Jada Fire.

MGM Resorts employees donate
to Nevada Cancer Institute

Employees of MGM Resorts have donated more than $1 million to the Nevada Cancer Institute since 2002 through the employee-funded MGM Resorts Foundation. MGM Resorts has donated more than $1.5 million donations in cash and in-kind contributions. In response, NVCI has named its auditorium the MGM Resorts International Auditorium.

Nevada Cancer Institute, 1 Breakthrough Way, is the official cancer institute for the state, a nonprofit organization and the state's first academic medical institution.

Recycle used writing instruments
at Office Depot

Sanford Brands, Office Depot and TerraCycle Inc. are teaming up during Earth Month.

Customers can bring their used writing instruments, regardless of the brand, to any Office Depot store April 17-23. In exchange for 10 pens, pencils or markers, customers will receive a coupon toward a new Sanford product. The collected instruments will be sent to TerraCycle, an upcycling and recycling company, to be turned into new office supply products ranging from trash cans to desk organizers.

To further reduce waste, TerraCycle and Old Navy are partnering from April 22 to May 21 to collect used flip flops and recycle them into four public playgrounds. Simply deposit used flip flops in designated collection bins at your area Old Navy store.

E Bunny asks for donations
of children's Easter baskets

The E Bunny program is asking for donations of Easter baskets and helping hands to make Easter special for needy children.

Organizations that receive baskets include City Mission of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Straight from the Streets, Clark County Social Services, Lutheran Social Services, Nevada Social Services, Family Promise, S.A.F.E. House, Heads Up and the Las Vegas Housing Authority.

Volunteers are being asked to donate a basket from a retail store. Baskets can be purchased for $7 to $15. The last date the E Bunny can accept baskets is April 18.

Jazzercise classes scheduled

Jazzercise is offering new customers free unlimited Jazzercise classes for April when they join with auto-pay registration.
