Gensler, the internationally known architectural firm charged with redesigning a master plan for North Las Vegas, pulled out of a $500,000 deal with the city on March 28, citing political controversy as a result of the proposal.
The plan, which aimed to turn the city into an international business hub, had support from the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and most of the City Council.
Mayor Shari Buck and Senate Majority leader Steven Horsford, among others, said the plan was a waste of money for a city struggling to fill a $25 million budget gap.
