Spirit Therapies plans annual trail ride to raise funds for its programs

In its continued effort to provide therapeutic riding opportunities to special needs children, Spirit Therapies plans to host its eighth annual benefit trail ride Friday and Saturday at Sandy Valley Ranch, 1411 Kingston Ranch, in Sandy Valley.

The overnight event includes dinner, campfire entertainment, an early breakfast and a 6-mile trail ride on a marked course.

The fee is $40 per person, which includes food and a raffle ticket.

Participants are asked to arrive at the ranch between 2 and 4 p.m. Friday. Stalls for horses are available for $10 and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Saturday's trail ride is scheduled to be between two and three hours. Participants are asked to bring a bucket for water for their horses. No stallions are allowed.

This is the first year the fundraiser is an overnight event.
