New energy-efficient dishwashers save kilowatts and make less noise as well

Bosch, the appliance manufacturer known worldwide for setting industry standards in quietness and energy/water efficiency, has introduced its new lineup of Evolution and Integra dishwashers, featuring the quietest, most energy-efficient models in the country -- the Evolution SHE98 and Integra SHX98.

Both models exceed the minimum federal energy standard by 147 percent with a yearly usage of only 190 kilowatts and use about the same amount of energy as a dishwasher half their size. The Evolution and Integra lineups also offer a variety of convenience and efficiency options structured into three classes -- the 300, 500 and 800 Series -- giving consumers a myriad of choices in selecting the model best suited for their lifestyles.

"We are proud to continue our superior legacy in energy efficiency with our new premium Integra and Evolution dishwasher models," said Franz J. Bosshard, president and chief executive officer. "The new Evolution and Integra Series embody what Bosch dishwashers are known for -- the most advanced dishwashing systems with intuitive controls that make it simple to achieve sparkling clean dishes while saving time, water and energy."

As the only manufacturer with entire product lines of Energy Star-qualified refrigeration, laundry and dishwashers, Bosch continues to create advancements that boost energy and water savings. Bosch's Ecooption, on select 500 and 800 Series models, take energy efficiency to the next level by reducing energy consumption by up to an additional 25 percent -- with just the simple push of a button.

The new Ecosense Wash Management System examines the soil level in the water via an infrared light beam and customizes the wash cycle accordingly with 48 different options. A new Half Load option allows consumers to run the dishwasher half full, thus reducing the time, water and energy by 30 percent. Furthermore, the Quickwash program (500 and 800 Series) offers an abbreviated, energy-conscious cycle for smaller loads or less soiled dishes and is the fastest 30-minute option in the industry. These systems, along with other efficiency advancements, ensure that Bosch dishwashers use as little as 1.8 gallons of water per cycle while guaranteeing optimal wash results.

The new Evolution collection, with visible controls and displays, offers six model options that deliver the ultimate in safety and convenience. Beyond being one of the two most energy-efficient dishwashers on the market, the top-of-the-line SHE98 (800 Series) also provides nine wash cycles and a 42-decibel quietness level. Additionally, this model features the Sanitize Option, which results in the elimination of 99.9 percent of bacteria, and a fully automated Load Sensor to customize the cycle to the weight and amount of the dishes. The SHE68 (800 Series) offers the Ecooption and Half Load feature.

The Integra collection, with seven different models available, is known for its extreme quietness and aesthetically pleasing concealed control panel design.
