New releases for week of Oct. 21
A couple of big names are hitting shelves this week.
In "Against Medical Advice," best-selling writer James Patterson shares the true story of Cory Friedman, who after suffering involuntary tics and utterances is diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome and obsessive compulsive disorder. Cory searches out specialist after specialist and is put on numerous drug cocktails, which cause debilitating side effects. “Against Medical Advice” follows Cory’s journey as his Tourette’s worsens and he is forced to live with the embarrassment he feels from his uncontrollable movements.
Decades after writing "The Witches of Eastwick," John Updike has penned the sequel, "The Widows of Eastwick." This time around Alexandra, Jane and Sukie have left town, remarried and become widows, as the title suggests, only to return to the magic of Eastwick after traveling the world.
