New restaurants, businesses open throughout Summerlin

Within the past few months, six new restaurants and eateries have opened in Summerlin bringing the dining count to nearly 100.

Recently opened venues include Nittaya's Secret Kitchen and The Sushi Restaurant in Pueblo Place, I Luv Yogurt in Vista Commons, Chronic Tacos in Trails Village Center, L&L Barbeque in Canyon Pointe and Yard House in Red Rock Casino Resort Spa, located in Summerlin Centre.

"Summerlin is a dining hot spot in the Las Vegas Valley," said Nikkole Liesse, director of marketing for Summerlin. "The community features a wide variety of flavors to please any palette, including French, Italian, Mexican, American, Chinese, Thai and Korean flare. Options are available at multiple price points ranging from elegant fine dining to fast food."

Several new businesses and medical offices also have opened, including Amy A. Gearin DMD in Hills Center Business Park, Red Rock Kids Dental in Vista Commons, Steel Shape Supplements and Fitness Training in Summit Center and Allstate in Pueblo Shopping Center.

"Close proximity to medical, health and service-oriented businesses is a top priority in Summerlin," Liesse said. "The neighboring office and retail centers serve the needs of our residents."

Developed by The Howard Hughes Corp., an affiliate of General Growth Properties Inc., Summerlin is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a year-long celebration that commenced in May 2010. The community began to take shape in 1990 and has ranked in the country's top 10 best-selling master-planned communities for more than a decade.

Located along the western rim of the Las Vegas Valley, Summerlin encompasses 22,500 acres with about 7,500 acres still remaining to accommodate future growth within the master plan. The community is home to nearly 100,000 residents.

The area includes more than 150 neighborhood and village parks, more than 150 miles of the Summerlin trail system, nine golf courses, a dozen houses of worship, shopping centers, medical and cultural facilities, business parks, 25 public and private schools and 75 actively selling floor plans.
