Newlyweds choose Glengarry for first home

Newlyweds Stephanie and Dan Buskin extended praise for their new Aberdeen model home at Lennar's Glengarry neighborhood, located in Anthem Highlands in Henderson.

"I just love driving into Anthem Highlands," Stephanie Buskin said. "It's so green. There are just more trees and grass here. And the lights of the city are so beautiful at night. It's like an escape."

The Buskins moved into their Aberdeen home less than two months ago. It is the couple's first residence together.

Their home measures 1,959 square feet and features three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a two-car garage. All traffic areas on the home's second floor are tiled and accented by upgraded 4-inch baseboard molding.

The home's main floor includes a formal living room and dining room, and a kitchen that overlooks the sunken family room detailed by a decorative wood railing.

The first floor also features under-stairwell storage and a utility room that offers access to the home's two-car garage.

"Our last house was a single-story so we love the vaulted ceilings," Dan Buskin said. "With the tile floors, the two-story ceilings and all the windows, our home seems even larger."

The Buskins designed an upstairs guest room with an island motif, and are working on converting the third bedroom into a study/computer room. Their master suite opens to a veranda that runs the full width of the home.

Glengarry features three two-story, single-family designs within a gated enclave. Prices start in the $300,000s.

The St. Andrew measures 2,102 square feet and includes four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. It features a master suite veranda and first-floor covered patio. The island kitchen offers a pantry.

Measuring 2,458 square feet is the Turnberry, which includes four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, a covered patio and second-level veranda. The island kitchen offers a dining nook with a classic French door leading to the patio.

The second floor features a master suite with a private veranda. The suite's bath includes two walk-in closets, an oval garden tub, separate glass-enclosed shower, private water closet and dual sinks.

Homes are under construction at the neighborhood for late fall and pre-holiday move-ins, according to the developer.

To visit, take Sun City Anthem Parkway to Bicentennial Parkway, go west on Bicentennial to Democracy Drive and follow signs to the community. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Monday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
