No substitute for Hemingway

I don't know. Maybe its just me in a griping mood over how technology sucks the beauty from life, one reality clip at a time.
Take this YouTube video of a matador gored in the throat in Spain. You can view it several times and come away with, what? An image of a big animal almost killing a man.
Or, you could have read, say, "The Sun Also Rises" and gained insight not only into the danger of the sport of bullfighting, but also the majesty and the glory.
For example:
"In bull-fighting they speak of the terrain of the bull and the terrain of the bull-fighter. As long as a bull-fighter stays in his own terrain he is comparatively safe. Each time he enters into the terrain of the bull he is in great danger. Belmonte, in his best days, worked always in the terrain of the bull. This way he gave the sensation of coming tragedy."
- Chapter 18, The Sun Also Rises.
Sigh.
Complete Las Vegans know what I'm talking about. Don't you?
