North Las Vegas Ward 4 election recount results announced
A voting recount requested by Ward 4 North Las Vegas City Council candidate Richard Cherchio yielded 1,831 for dentist Wade Wagner and 1,830 for Cherchio July 22.
The results were the same as the original election June 7. The recount, which came four days after Wade Wagner was sworn in, was conducted by the Clark County Election Department.
Wagner sworn in as Ward 4 city councilman
Wade Wagner was sworn in to represent Ward 4 on the North Las Vegas City Council during a July 18 special ceremony scheduled just hours after a district court judge's ruling. The judge resolved the legal challenges that day. Another judge had issued a restraining order prohibiting Wagner from taking office until a new election could be held, although the judge allowed the council to canvass the election results. Lawyers for both sides agreed to consolidate all the lawsuits filed in this matter. Richard Cherchio's attorney voluntarily withdrew the restraining order. Cherchio said he would seek a recount.
