ON THE BEAT: Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler is just a normal guy

When you meet Jay Cutler, Mr. Olympia, it's tough to get past the sheer size of him. Arms like tree trunks sound cliche, but stand next to him, and--yup--that's what comes to mind. And if his arms are like tree trucks, then his thighs ... well, you get the idea.  That's what it takes to maintain his title, which he did in late September.

Yet he's soft spoken, easygoing and just a regular guy.

OK, so maybe not "regular," but this is a man who's not full of himself, who doesn't come off as a tough guy. As he says he's "just Jay" -- that's how his friends and family know him. No put ons, no attitude, no asking for the spotlight.

Body building is, for him, a job. A means to an end. His livelihood.

Bolstered by sponsor, he works out at various clubs to maintain the incredible muscle mass and eats a diet that would send a chocolate-holic to the insane asylum.

But, beneath it all is a guy who's looking forward to a time when his every move isn't dictated by his job. Hey, that sounds like a lot of us. Learn more about Jay Cutler in the View News.
