Paging ‘pro-life’ Democrats …
After the abortion that is the HCR bill, it's pretty much impossible now to define any Democrat as "pro-life".
Or, at least that's how activists now see it when they say: "The executive order promised by President Obama was issued for political effect. It changes nothing. It does not correct any of the serious pro-abortion provisions in the bill."
I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say that you can't be a Democrat and also be pro-life advocate. But there is no meaningful place for you in the party on a national level. You either become an abortion enabler, like Sen. Harry Reid, or you become a national fool, like Rep. Bart Stupak.
This story paints the landscape for the so called "pro-life" Democrat. If you're against abortion, read it; weep.
