Pardee employees help local shelter

Las Vegas Pardee Homes employees collected and delivered more than $10,000 worth of gifts to The Shade Tree Shelter for homeless women, children and their pets. The workers chose this project in lieu of an employee holiday party, as part of the company's Building Hope community outreach program.

Also, the home-building company donated $5,000 from home sales in Southern Nevada during the recent holiday season.

That brings the total donations to more than $90,000 since 1994, according to Pardee Regional Sales Director Rob Tuvell.

Located in downtown Las Vegas at 1 W. Owens Ave., the shelter provides more than 80,000 nights of shelter each year to more than 4,100 abused and homeless women and children and serves another 15,000 through day shelter.

In addition, The Shade Tree includes Noah's Animal House to provide shelter for family pets from abusive households.
