Pardee helps sisters celebrate holiday cheer

Sisters Kendra Hatch and McKinzie Cogswell, along with their husbands, purchased new Pardee Homes in the neighborhoods of La Puerta and San Mateo, both located in the Mountain's Edge master-planned community and will host their parents at their new homes for the holiday.

It was McKinzie Cogswell and husband, Tim, who paved the trail to Las Vegas, moving in 2005. Hatch and husband, Ryan, moved to the valley in November 2006, and Cogswell's new home search led her and her husband to Pardee's San Mateo, where they selected the 1,654-square-foot Plan Two with three bedrooms and three baths this past summer.

"We were already living in the southwest and wanted to buy a home in a community where there would be a chance for us to live close to each other," McKinzie Cogswell said. "We found our home at San Mateo, then Kendra and Ryan very soon after found their home at La Puerta. We're literally just across the arroyo from each other."

The couple praised the home's amenities.

"Our home had preselected cherry cabinetry and dark granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances that give it a very modern, clean look that was just what we wanted," McKinzie Cogswell said.

Across the arroyo at La Puerta, the Hatch couple found a home with a downstairs guest suite, kitchen and family room with a three-car garage.

"Our home also included many upgraded amenities that had been preselected, including GE Profile appliances, security and intercom system," Kendra Hatch said.

They picked the two-story Residence Four at La Puerta, which measures about 2,414 square feet with four bedrooms, three baths, loft and three-car garage. The floor plan can be built with a fifth bedroom in lieu of the loft and flex space in lieu of garage space.

La Puerta's one- and two-story floor plans feature up to five bedrooms in about 1,534 square feet to 2,414 square feet. Prices range from $319,450 to $380,450.

The two-story Residence Two at San Mateo, selected by the Cogswells, can be built with up to four bedrooms and measures 1,654 square feet in its standard configuration of two bedrooms, 21/2 baths, den and two-car garage.

San Mateo features four two-story floor plans that range from about 1,577 to 1,985 square feet. Prices range from about $257,450 to $291,450.

Mountain's Edge features more than 500 acres devoted to open space, including Exploration Peak, a fully restored natural mountain park, in addition to bicycle and walking trails.

To visit La Puerta and San Mateo at Mountain's Edge, take State Route 160 west to Buffalo Drive and turn left into the Mountain's Edge community. Proceed south on Buffalo Drive to Cactus Avenue and turn left and follow the signs to the neighborhoods.

Sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Monday when they open at 11 a.m.
