Pardee renews family

When Jesse and Julissa Legasppy decided to get married and combine their families, they found the home for their new life together in the San Mateo neighborhood by Pardee Homes in Mountain's Edge master-planned community.

"With three children, we liked the size of the house and the opportunity to have a giant game room where we could spend quality time with them," said Julissa Legasppy, who brought Matthew, 14, and Austin, 9, to her marriage to Jesse Legasppy, whose daughter Alexzandra is 12. They all enjoy playing pool, pingpong and darts in their new game room.

Julissa Legasppy, an elementary education student at Nevada State College, said they were looking for value as well as size when shopping for their new home.

"We believe we got a good value for the square footage, especially when you consider all that was included," she said.

San Mateo's two-story homes feature three to four bedrooms from 1,577 to 2,331 square feet. Pricing ranges from $289,450 to $326,450.

Residence One is a 1,577-square-foot home with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and two-car garage with a loft available in lieu of a secondary bedroom.

Residence Two measures 1,654 square feet, offering two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, den and two-car garage. The home can include four bedrooms.

Residence Three at San Mateo offers 1,823 square feet with four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and two-car garage. The home is available with a loft in lieu of one secondary bedroom.

Residence Four measures 1,985 square feet with three bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and two-car garage. Loft and game room options can bring the square footage to 2,331 square feet.

To reach San Mateo at Mountain's Edge, take State Route 160 west to Buffalo Drive and turn left into the Mountain's Edge community. Proceed south on Buffalo to Cactus Avenue and turn left and follow the signs to the neighborhood.
