Pardee’s Springdale catches couple’s eye

Jason Robb had done construction-related work in the vicinity several times, and he and his wife had visited a nearby park and checked out several neighborhoods in the area. Yet for some reason, the Pardee Homes neighborhood of Springdale, part of the Aliante master-planned community, escaped their notice for months.

Then one day, Jason and Chandra Robb, natives of the Las Vegas Valley, happened upon Springdale when they were driving around Aliante.

"We were originally looking across I-215 at some homes on the northern side of Aliante," Jason Robb said. "Springdale is kind of tucked back behind [Nature Discovery Park] on the south side of the community. On my first visit, I actually turned into Springdale to make a u-turn -- saw the models -- and thought we should take a look. We had probably been right past here six months to a year prior and had never known it was here.

"We were not really looking for Springdale, but once we saw it, we bought our home here within two weeks," he said.

Before moving to Springdale, the couple had taken their children, 6-year-old Jace and 8-year-old Lauren, to the playground at Nature Discovery Park and the adjacent Aliante Library.

"I love living by the dinosaur park," Jace said.

The Robbs' lifestyle has included many more outdoor activities since they moved to Aliante. They take strolls around the Aliante trail system and can walk to Nature Discovery Park for concerts and other special events.

"I did not even know they had those kinds of events, but now that we are here we love them," Jason Robb said. "In fact, we love everything about Aliante. There always seems to be something going on here for people of all ages."

Aliante is a development of North Valley Enterprises LLC, an affiliate of American Nevada Co. and Pulte Homes. Encompassing more than 1,900 acres, will collectively have as many as 7,500 homes, with an anticipated population of about 20,000.

Home builders at Aliante include Astoria Homes, Del Webb, KB Home, Lennar, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes.

Home prices range from the upper $100,000s to the upper $600,000s. In addition, Del Webb is building the age-qualified Sun City Aliante community.

Aliante is bordered roughly by Grand Teton Drive, Centennial Parkway, Decatur Boulevard and Clayton Street. Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway intersects Aliante, providing easy access to the major arteries of Interstate 15 and U.S. Highway 95.

About 428 acres in Aliante are designated for recreational and public purposes, including the Aliante Golf Club, the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park, Deer Springs Park, Aviary Park, more than 24 miles of lighted concrete trails and linear parks, and an arroyo.

Proposed plans for Aliante include two elementary schools and a middle school, all of which would be built by the Clark County School District. The community's first school, the Theron H. and Naomi D. Goynes Elementary School, opened in August 2005. A fire station opened in April 2004 and the Aliante Library, located adjacent to Nature Discovery Park, opened in May 2006.

About 100 acres in Aliante are allocated for commercial development, including the Aliante Corporate Center office park. Construction began earlier this year on the Aliante Station Hotel & Casino, located on a 40-acre parcel at the northeast corner of I-215 and Aliante Parkway.

To visit, take U.S. 95 to I-215 Exit East. Go east on I-215, exit at Aliante Parkway and proceed south.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Information can also be obtained by calling 866-787-2951 or visiting Aliantehomes.com.
