Paxton Walk wins real estate award

Blue Marble Development recently was honored as the state's Best New Developer for its Paxton Walk community, which is under construction in the northwestern Las Vegas Valley. The award was presented at the first annual Best of Nevada Real Estate Awards.

Cory Nelson, Paxton Walk's senior vice president, was on hand at the Palms Casino Resort Aug. 11 to accept the award from the event hosts, actor Mario Lopez and KTNV-TV anchor Tricia Kean. Blue Marble was honored in the Best New Developer of residential lofts and condo-hotel category.

"It was an honor to be recognized by our peers in this way," said Deirdre Waitt, president of Blue Marble Development. "Congratulations to all of our fellow nominees. We are thrilled to be counted among the best of the best."

The nominations came from local real estate industry professionals. Winners were chosen by more than 22,000 votes cast by industry professionals as well as nonprofessionals through the Las Vegas Review-Journal Web site.

Paxton Walk is a mix of townhomes, condominiums, storefronts and offices, centered by a town square.

According to Waitt, Blue Marble invested two years of market research with national firms before green-lighting the mixed-use development.

Following that decision, the developer conducted a search for architects, designers and landscape professionals to build Paxton Walk.

Upon completion, there will be 717 condominiums located around courtyards or overlooking Slade Avenue, the development's main street. Courtyards at Paxton Walk (West) offers 175 flats or two-level condominiums in four-story buildings surrounding a garage.

Nine floor plans range from 726 to 1532 square feet.

Amenities include multiple swimming pools, spas, fitness centers and recreation areas. The 9,000-square-foot main clubhouse includes a two-story great room, party rooms, library and business center.

Paxton Walk sits on the northeast corner of U.S. Highway 95 North and Interstate 215, the Las Vegas Beltway. From U.S. Highway 95 North, take Exit 91 with I-215 East/Buffalo Drive option. Turn right on Sky Pointe Drive. The sales pavilion is on the left.
