PETS: Readers send in photos of their animals

Readers have submitted hundreds of entries to the View's pets section. And, because we only can feature a few photos each week in the newspaper, we decided to expand the sharing online. We hope you enjoy these extra faces, and remind you to check back each Tuesday for more photos of your best friends.

"Doc has had a birthday party with his 'people friends' every year of his life. He loves to open his presents and takes each and drops I in his bed," said Dianna Stubbs of Las Vegas.

"I came into the dining room, and there was Keeke with the statue ... just smiling and happy, so I couldn't resist the pic. It was not staged. He just likes sitting by her," said Marilyn and Mel Larson of Las Vegas.

"Sampson, left, enjoys basking in the Las Vegas sun while Zorro, right, stays busy protecting our house. The also love to take long walks at Silver Springs," said Barbara and Pete Kaufman of Las Vegas.

"This is our 17-year-old love bird, Tweetie Pie. ... Tweetie Pie, named by my husband, Leonard, is, of course, very spoiled ... and joins me for meals, especially breakfast as I read the Review-Journal. I am sorry to say that afterwards Tweetie Pie shreds the paper to put in its wings - a bird thing, I guess!" said Roselle Lindenbaum of Las Vegas.

"This is our dog, Zack. He is a Chinese crested and is mostly hairless. He enjoys lounging in the sun, but he needs sun block lotion or he will burn," said Katy Starr and Sean Burnos of Las Vegas.
