PETS: Readers send in photos of their animals

Readers have submitted hundreds of entries to View’s pets section. Because we only can feature a few photos each week in the newspaper, we decided to expand the sharing online. We hope you enjoy these extra faces, and remind you to check back each Tuesday for more photos of your best friends.

Claude Richards of Henderson shared this photo of his golden retriever, Buddy, who was pulling for Tony Stewart during the 2011 NASCAR championship.

Paula and Jerry Gulosh of Las Vegas shared this photo of Godiva, a Labrador mix. “She was named Godiva because she was a chocolate color when she was small. She was named after the famous chocolate. She loves to chase after tennis balls.”

Oliver, owned by Ginger Reinhardt of Henderson, is a rescue dog adopted from the Happy Home Animal Sanctuary two years ago after he was found on the streets of Las Vegas. “He is such a wonderful, happy dog and is perfectly content just to be held all the time. He’s my personal trainer, getting me out walking every day on a two-mile trip that includes looking longingly through a fenced backyard at his girlfriend halfway through our walk.”

Darla Dickson of Las Vegas shared this photo of her dog Trixie, a 2-year-old mutt that she and her husband, Mark, adopted a little more than a year ago from the Henderson animal shelter. “Having her is like having an extra shadow. You can’t go 3 feet without her being right there. This is a rare photo of her not in motion.”
