PETS: Readers send in photos of their animals

Readers have submitted hundreds of entries to View’s pets section. Because we only can feature a few photos each week in the newspaper, we decided to expand the sharing online. We hope you enjoy these extra faces, and remind you to check back each Tuesday for more photos of your best friends.

Dena Giusa of Las Vegas shared this photo of brother and sister Aine and Bootsy, who are 5 months old and best friends. “They love each other and our family. They especially love to chase our Maine coon, Angel, around the house.”

Valley resident Josie Roed shared this photo of her 4-year-old boxer, Brandy. “I had a heart attack some years back, and my cardiologist told me to learn how to relax more,” she wrote. “He suggested we purchase a dog to help me. Brandy is my medical companion and a real blessing to our family. ... She started talking about a year ago -She says, 'Mom,' and it is very audible. We’re not quite sure why she started talking, but we love it.” Check out Brandy the talking boxer on YouTube.

Ioana Petre of Las Vegas shared this photo of her cat Faro. “Faro is 6 years old, full of energy, mischievous and loves to play all day," she wrote.

Karen Smith of North Las Vegas shared this photo of Shorty, her one-eyed dog, taking an afternoon nap.

Gary Brunetti shared this photo of Stevee, a Manchester terrier. “His breed was one of the contributors to the Doberman breed. This one is very lovable and likes to cuddle. He is my second one, and I felt very lucky to have found him. My first one grew old, and I had to have him put down last January. I still cry for him. He was just the very best friend I had ever had, and he went everywhere with me.”
