PETS: Readers send in photos of their animals

Readers have submitted hundreds of entries to the View’s pets section. Because we only can feature a few photos each week in the newspaper, we decided to expand the sharing online. We hope you enjoy these extra faces, and remind you to check back each Tuesday for more photos of your best friends.

“This is Prince, a 1-year-old Shih Tzu,” wrote Robert and Heather Bean of Las Vegas. “Prince’s favorite toy is this tennis ball he has had since he was 4 months old. His other favorite activity other than chasing this ball is playing with other dogs at the Dog Fancier’s Park on East Flamingo Road.”

Margaret and Keith Patterson of Spring Valley shared this photo of their dog Frankie. “When we adopted him, we didn’t know his breed until a friend in England told us he’s a Parson Russell terrier. When he’s not hunting vermin, he’s very lovable, giving hugs and kisses all day long. He’s pictured here with his best friend, SpongeBob. He also likes playing with tennis balls, all by himself or with mom or dad, in the backyard.”

“This is my little Shih Tzu Chanel, whom I have raised since she was 8 weeks old; she is now a healthy, happy 7-year-old,” wrote Ruth Selter of Las Vegas. “She is my fourth Shi Tzu, but by far the smallest. She only weighs 9 pounds.”

“This is our girl Jewell,” wrote Maryann and Bob Acker and Anthony Jamieson of Las Vegas. “She is 1 year old and is a rescue from the Nevada SPCA. She is so smart and so loving. We call her our diamond in the rough after we lost our boy Maximus. She gets along with all dogs but loves humans best!”
