PETS: Readers send in photos of their animals

Readers have submitted hundreds of entries to View’s pets section. Because we only can feature a few photos each week in the newspaper, we decided to expand the sharing online. We hope you enjoy these extra faces, and remind you to check back each Tuesday for more photos of your best friends.

“One-year-old Chico says, ‘Hi from Las Vegas,’ ” wrote Doreen Wright. “You can bet that wherever he is, his football isn’t far behind.”

“This is Santa Daisy,” wrote Maureen Thornton of Henderson.

“This is Jackson,” wrote Mike Tomko of Las Vegas. “Actually, his full name is Lt. Jackson R. Russell. He is a 3-year-old tricolor Jack Russell terrier. I adopted him about two years ago. He was abandoned in a foreclosed home. When I got him, he was about 8 pounds. He is energetic, loving, playful and a bit crazy at times. ... And he loves the snow. I live in The Lakes and took this on Monday after the snowstorm. Needless to say, he had a blast.”

“I adopted my poodle Sunshine from Lied Animal Foundation in July 2010,” wrote Edith McGlynn of North Las Vegas. “She had a double hernia and was so matted you could not tell she was a poodle. I told her to be good and that I would return the next day to get her after she was spayed. The next day when I picked her up, she was groggy, however, she was so happy to see me because she knew I had saved her life. I cleaned her up, had the surgery to take care of the hernias and had her teeth cleaned. My Sunshine is a true example of how you can make a difference in one life.”
