PETS: Readers send in photos of their animals

Readers have submitted hundreds of entries to the View’s pets section. And, because we only can feature a few photos each week in the newspaper, we decided to expand the sharing online. We hope you enjoy these extra faces, and remind you to check back each Tuesday for more photos of your best friends.

Veronica Calhoun sent this photo of Maggie, an Airedale owned by the Wybourne family of Henderson. “I’m wearing Auntie Ronnie’s hat. Don’t I look cute? ... A lady doesn’t tell her age.”

Charlie and Elsa Carman of Las Vegas shared this photo of their cats, Kilo and Mingling. “They were abandoned at 5 weeks old. ... Both are now 4 months old. They love each other so much but cannot wait until their daddy comes home to play with his laser light on the wall. They both bring us so much pleasure.”

“This is the best photo I have of two best of buddies,” wrote Amber House of Las Vegas. “My husband, Phil, was asleep when our 5-year-old brindle Bubbah decided to curl up and sleep with him. My creeping up to take the picture woke one of them up!”

“These are our two rescue dogs, Bally, a border collie mix, and Elvis, a Labrador mix,” wrote Lynn, Eric and Ryan Gustafson of Las Vegas. “Bally is 6 years old, and Elvis is 9. We have had them for them for 5 years. Elvis loves to swim and retrieve. Bally loves to tackle Elvis and steal his toys and bones. They are best friends, and they give us their love every day.”

“My daughter, Cheryl Curtain, rescued this formerly abused dog, Jackie,” wrote Patty Miller of Las Vegas. “As you can see, it is a partnership made in heaven. Jackie is very possessive, and her favorite thing to do is to sit on Cheryl’s lap and be carried around.”
